DENDROBIUM 'Aridang Blue'

Aridang blue is a well talked about orchid. They have a beautiful mix of blue and white flowers. The spike is long with 10-15 flowers. Blue dendrobiums are in demand because they are distinct from the pink, violet and the maroons.

Why does orchids lose leaves?

Some orchids like Calanthe are deciduous and can lose leaves in their annual cycle. Most of the orchids do not lose leaves all at once.

If this happened to one of your orchids the most common cause is 'water intoxication' - the roots are too wet. You need to immediately repot the plant, keep them dry for a while, water them from above and allow it to drain below.

All dead leaves should be removed and hopefully new roots and leaves will appear. If you leave it unnoticed for a long time, the plant is likely to die.
